Spoiler warning: We’re talking about Charles confronting Horace, Norman fighting for his life, Jules making a deal, Sylvie threatening Rain’s future, and that final burst of gunfire.
Baby, Episode 7 is called “The Looking Glass,” and apparently everybody needs to take a good long look at themselves.
Especially Horace.
Because after spending all that time judging Charles and Varney, Charles finally catches his father in a situation that makes him ask some VERY uncomfortable questions.
And Horace does not enjoy being questioned.
At all.
Charles Is Done Letting Horace Shame Him
We pick up after Charles walks in on Angel dancing privately for Horace.
Charles immediately sees hypocrisy.
Horace has spent all this time acting disgusted by Charles being with Varney, yet here he is behind closed doors with Angel.
Charles calls him out.
Horace insists Charles doesn’t understand what he saw, but Charles is tired of hearing it.
He tells his father that maybe Horace hates him so much because Charles is living openly in a way Horace never allowed himself to.
Whew.
Charles came in with a mirror and held it directly in Daddy’s face.
Horace takes Charles and Varney into a private room and reveals something else creepy: he’s had access to surveillance around the family’s homes and already knew Charles and Varney were together.
Sir.
Does nobody in this family understand privacy?
Varney finally tells Horace plainly that he loves Charles, they’re together, and Charles has agreed to get treatment.
I was proud of Varney for that.
Somebody needed to stop whispering around Horace like he owns the oxygen.
Mallory Has Norman Bleeding Out in Her House
Meanwhile, Kimmie arrives at Mallory’s house and finds her covered in blood.
Norman attacked Mallory.
Mallory shot him.
And somehow the man is STILL alive.
Of course he is.
Norman apparently has nine lives and several backup batteries.
Alex checks him and confirms he still has a weak pulse.
Mallory’s solution?
Let him die.
Kimmie wants to call Horace because she knows hiding Norman’s death could create an even bigger problem.
Mallory is more worried that killing a family member could cost her shares.
This woman has a dying man on the floor and is checking the company bylaws.
Priorities.
Horace eventually arrives, looks at his brother barely breathing, and agrees they should let him die.
After everything Norman did—including arranging Horace’s poisoning—there is exactly zero brotherly love left in that room.
Jules Finally Sees a Way Out
Jules is doing what Jules does best:
Scheming.
He learns that police have information connecting Rain to Glen’s death after Frank reported what he heard about Glen being pushed from a balcony.
That gets Jules’s attention immediately.
Then Jules starts negotiating.
He knows where Norman keeps his collection of blackmail evidence, even though he previously pretended otherwise.
His proposal is basically simple:
Use Norman’s evidence to expose powerful corrupt people, make the investigator look like a hero…
and let Jules walk.
Now THAT man can find a business opportunity anywhere.
Jail?
Negotiation room.
Family murder scandal?
Leverage.
Norman’s secret files?
Exit strategy.
Jules is not trying to prove he is innocent.
He is trying to make himself useful enough that somebody decides keeping him locked up is inconvenient.
Rain’s New Life Is Already in Danger
Rain is still running Make It Rain like she has owned clubs for twenty years instead of twenty minutes.
She’s barking orders, criticizing employees, and making sure everybody knows she is the boss.
Even the people around her are noticing that this new power has gone straight to her head.
Then Kimmie arrives with bad news.
Sylvie is still having nightmares and plans to go to the police.
Rain immediately panics.
Because if Sylvie tells police what happened to Glen, Rain’s shiny new life could disappear just as quickly as it arrived.
Rain wants them to deal with Sylvie that night.
Kimmie tries to calm her down and says she’ll talk to Sylvie and her mother in the morning.
But Rain’s reaction tells me something important:
She is scared.
And scared people with money and power make terrible decisions.
Roy Is Slipping Again
Roy is still locked up and struggling with addiction.
Another inmate offers him exactly what he has been desperately wanting.
Roy takes it.
After all the withdrawal, all the begging, and all the chances to finally get clean, Roy falls right back into the same cycle.
I can’t even make much fun of this one.
Roy is a mess in plenty of ways, but addiction has him trapped.
And this family is so busy manipulating one another that nobody seems capable of giving him the kind of help he actually needs.
Mallory Decides She’s Going Out Anyway
After nearly getting killed by Norman, Mallory decides she and Kimmie should still go out.
Because apparently attempted murder is not going to ruin her evening.
Honestly?
That may be the most Mallory thing possible.
Norman is bleeding out on the floor.
Horace says he’ll handle it.
Mallory fixes herself up and heads to Rain’s club.
She even invites Lee to meet her there.
Baby, I respect the commitment to the schedule.
If Mallory puts “go out” on her calendar, apparently only her own death will cancel it.
Then Somebody Comes for Horace
Horace stays behind with Norman.
And he is enjoying this WAY too much.
He stands over his dying brother and basically tells Norman that after everything he’s done, this is exactly what he deserves.
Horace calls Whitman to arrange cleanup at the house.
Then suddenly—
GUNFIRE.
Shots rip through the room.
Horace is hit.
And the episode cuts out with him wounded.
Excuse me?
We JUST finished watching Norman try to die.
Now Horace too?
This family cannot go one evening without somebody bleeding on expensive furniture.
My Take
“The Looking Glass” was a strong setup for the finale because nearly every major storyline is about to collide.
Charles finally stopped letting Horace shame him.
Jules may have found his way out through Norman’s blackmail stash.
Rain now knows Sylvie could destroy everything she’s built.
Norman is barely alive.
And Horace ends the episode caught in gunfire.
The Charles and Horace confrontation was probably my favorite part because Horace has spent so much time judging everybody else while refusing to examine himself.
But I’m also watching Jules.
That man knows where Norman’s evidence is, and if he gets his hands on it before everybody else?
The Bellaries may have a much bigger problem than jail.

Episode 7 put everybody right on the edge before the finale.
And after that last scene?
Somebody needs to check whether ANY Bellarie man still has a pulse.
