Spoiler warning: We’re talking about Carla’s confession, Tandy’s gun, El Fuego and Midnight’s side business, Big D’s bad decision, Amp’s proposal and that cliffhanger.
Baby, Episode 8 is called “Certified Boogeyman,” and somebody needs to certify Blue and Tommy for something because the way they went after Carla?
There was no badge.
No warrant.
No attorney.
Just pain.
Meanwhile Madam is still trying to figure out who shot her, Tandy finally gets a little breathing room, El Fuego discovers he may have gotten scammed, and Amp decides this is the perfect time to pull out an engagement ring.
Everybody has their own emergency.
Carla Wanted Jail, but Blue and Tommy Said Absolutely Not
Remember how Carla got herself arrested on purpose because she figured jail was safer than being found by Blue and Tommy?
Well, that plan lasted about five minutes.
Blue and Tommy are the ones waiting when Carla gets released.
Carla immediately wants to go right back inside.
Honestly?
Smartest thing she has done all season.
Unfortunately, Blue and Tommy have other plans.
They take Carla somewhere private and begin questioning her about Madam’s shooting.
Carla keeps demanding to speak directly to her sister.
Blue and Tommy keep demanding answers.
Nobody is interested in compromise.
And because this is Eden justice instead of actual justice, the interrogation gets violent very quickly.
Carla insists she didn’t shoot Madam.
Then she insults Blue.
Girl.
You are tied to a chair.
READ THE ROOM.
Tandy’s Gun Comes Back Clean
While Carla is having the worst afternoon imaginable, Tandy finally gets some good news.
The gun police were testing does not connect her to Madam’s shooting.
Tandy is thrilled because she knew something about the whole accusation didn’t make sense.
Then she remembers exactly what happened with her gun.
She had been drunk and fired the only bullet into a painting while trying to hit a fly.
Now that is not responsible gun ownership.
But apparently it is an excellent alibi.
Tandy realizes Quincy knew about that bullet and still let her run around terrified that she might be accused of shooting Madam.
Oh, Quincy.
That boy saw an opportunity to make money and said:
Why let facts interfere with a good blackmail situation?
Tandy may be cleared of the shooting, but I would not want to be Quincy the next time she starts adding up everything he charged her.
Carla Finally Confesses
Back with Blue and Tommy, things get worse.
They focus on Carla’s shoulder wound because Madam remembered firing back at whoever shot her.
Carla continues refusing to explain herself.
Then Blue and Tommy push her until she finally breaks.
And Carla says it:
She shot Madam.
Now hold on.
Because the minute she confessed, I had questions.
Carla immediately tries to explain that there is more to the story, but Blue and Tommy do not care.
To them, case closed.
She confessed.
They found the car connection.
She has the shoulder injury.
Everything lines up.
Except this is All the Queen’s Men.
When something lines up this perfectly, I start looking under the table.
El Fuego and Midnight’s Big Business Idea Just Got Hijacked
Meanwhile, El Fuego and Midnight’s little side hustle has become a whole other problem.
Their VR project, Midnight Rendezvous, suddenly appears publicly before they were ready to release it.
Madam sees it.
And Madam is not happy.
From her perspective, these men used Eden, Eden’s customers and the image she helped build to create their own business without bringing her in first.
El Fuego tries to explain that it was only a prototype and that he planned to approach Madam once everything was ready.
Wrong answer.
Because Madam hears:
You planned to make money before giving me my cut.
And we already know Madam does not play about her dinero.
El Fuego realizes something else is wrong when he tries calling Virgie, the woman he was working with.
Her number has been disconnected.
Oh.
Baby.
You got GOT.
El Fuego was talking about investors while Virgie was apparently packing her imaginary office into the trunk.
Big D Learns That Free Money Is Rarely Free
Then we have Big D.
A woman named Samantha has been spending money around Eden and makes Big D an offer that comes with a bag full of cash.
Big D initially hesitates because Samantha is connected to Babyface.
But then he looks at the money.
And suddenly loyalty becomes negotiable.
This is exactly how people get into trouble.
If somebody puts a giant bag of money in front of you and says:
“It’s yours if…”
You should be paying VERY close attention to everything after the word “if.”
Big D accepts.
Babyface finds out.
And now the dancers are fighting over customers like somebody forgot Eden is a workplace.
Big D tries explaining that it was a one-time thing for the money.
Babyface does not care.
Apparently Eden has rules.
Who knew?
Trouble Is Fighting Everybody Too
As if the men weren’t already doing enough, Trouble gets into it with the dancers over another prank connected to her car.
Words start flying.
Then hands start flying.
And Trouble proves once again that being smaller does not mean being safer to fight.
She knocks one of the men down and walks away like:
Next question.
At this point, Eden needs a ring in the employee break room.
Stop pretending this is a nightclub.
Half these people come to work prepared for combat.
Toni and Dime Are Still Not About to Become Best Friends
Amp wants Toni and Dime to get along.
Bless his heart.
He really believes love can heal everything.
Toni even brings Dime a peace offering and tries to make an effort.
Dime is not impressed.
She makes it clear that she will be civil because Amp wants his mother in his life, but that does not mean she trusts Toni.
Toni doesn’t trust Dime either.
So basically they agree to dislike each other politely.
Progress?
Maybe.
At least nobody threw the gift basket.
Amp Has a Ring
Amp, meanwhile, is fully committed to building a future with Dime.
He tells Toni he bought an engagement ring.
Later, during a special moment at Eden, Amp gets down on one knee in front of everybody.
He tells Dime how much she means to him and asks her to marry him.
And Dime?
Just sits there.
Everybody is waiting.
Amp is waiting.
I am waiting.
The episode refuses to give us her answer.
Ma’am!
Say SOMETHING.
Even a cough would help.
Considering everything Dime has been feeling about the pregnancy and her future, that silence did not exactly make me confident.
Madam Finally Sees Carla
Then we get back to the real mess.
Blue and Tommy go to Madam and tell her they found the shooter.
Madam wants proof.
They tell her Carla confessed.
Madam immediately questions whether Carla truly confessed or whether they beat the answer out of her.
THANK YOU.
Madam and Carla may hate each other, but even Madam knows her sister well enough to question whether Carla would actually shoot her.
Then Blue and Tommy lay out the evidence.
The sedan.
Carla driving it.
The shoulder wound.
The confession.
Madam goes downstairs to see Carla for herself.
She looks at that wound.
Everything clicks.
And Madam realizes:
Her own sister may have been the person who tried to kill her.
Now Madam is furious.
Not regular Madam furious.
Family betrayal furious.
And that is much worse.
She grabs Tommy’s blade and prepares to make Carla pay.
Carla desperately tries to explain.
But we cut away before she gets the chance.
Of course we do.
My Take
This was a strong episode because the shooter mystery finally gave us something BIG.
Carla confessed.
But do I fully believe she shot Madam?
I believe she pulled the trigger.
I’m just not convinced we know why yet.
The way Carla kept insisting Madam needed to hear the whole story makes me think there is another piece missing.
Was she trying to kill Madam?
Was somebody forcing her?
Was she aiming at somebody else?
Did something happen that we haven’t seen?
Because if Carla simply wanted her sister dead, I don’t think the show would keep stopping her explanation.
El Fuego getting caught up in Virgie’s business scheme was another good storyline because he thought he was building something smart and may have ended up giving somebody else control of his idea.
And Amp proposing while Dime just sat there?
That silence was LOUD.

This episode gave us a confession, a possible scam, Eden employees fighting over money, a proposal with no answer and Madam standing over her own sister ready to spill blood.
Now Carla better start explaining FAST.
Because Madam already has the knife.
